Gotta get back in time....

Ladies and Gentlemen....I present the best news I have received in the last 10 hours....

HUEY LEWIS AND THE NEWS WILL BE AT THE IL STATE FAIR!

Aug 10. In Springfield. Well I guess I know what I am doing that day.

Meg Griffin: Oh no! I'm missing the news!
Peter Griffin: We all miss The News, Meg, but Huey Lewis needs time to create, and we need to be patient.

Freakonomics

From Wiki: Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything is a 2005 book by University of Chicago economist Steven Levitt and New York Times journalist Stephen J. Dubner that has been described as melding pop culture with economics.[1] As of 2007, it has sold over 3 million copies worldwide.

The book is a collection of economic articles written by Levitt, translated into prose meant for a wide audience. Levitt had already gained a reputation in academia for applying economic theory to diverse subjects not usually covered by "traditional" economists. Levitt is not actually a "rogue" economist, however, in that he accepts the standard microeconomic model of rational utility-maximization.

I have the daily calendar of the same name and information. The entry for today:

"In 1987 the Internal Revenue Service changed one simple rule: instead of merely listing the name of each dependent child in order to get a deduction, tax filers were now required to provide a Social Security number for each child. On April 15 of that year, seven million American children suddenly vanished from the tax rolls."

Interesting. So cheat on your taxes until you get caught.(Actually don't. The IRS will mess you up if you do).

I'm confused...

If you are wearing pants, which one does usually because it is cold, then why would you also wear flip flops?....because remember it is too cold to wear shorts.....so you wore pants....with flip flops....

If you're at the gym, working out on lets say the bench press machine.....wouldn't it be safe to assume that you weren't using two other machines at the same time...you know...because you're not one of the X-men, so it would be hard to be in three places at once....right?

If you stop behind someone at a stop sign, why would we count that as your stop as well?.....8 feet and stop again, no?

Baseball America Road Trip 2k8

While attending Murray, I always wanted to drive across America and see all the Major League Ballparks and watch a game there. I soon realized that a trip like that must be broke down into several small trips to save money and allow for non-tent living. So I told Sarah about this when we got together and she thought it was a pretty cool idea, we never set a time table or made plans, but it was something we wanted to do. So this summer the trip begins. Part of my idea was to get a large map and hang it in the office at our house, then push pins into the city of each team(Chicago and New York get 2). Once we visit that stadium to change the color of the pin and check it off the list. Well thanks to tjones I have that map. While drinking and eating at BWW this past December, I told Tim about the idea and when I got home that night he had bought me a sweet map to start the adventure. So it hangs now, in our office full of white pins. There are 7 pins that are blue(which means we are going there this summer), and 1 red(which means we have been there). The 7 cities are Chicago(2 games), Milwaukee, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and Kansas City. The Chicago/Milwaukee trip is May 25-27 and I am very excited. The PItts/Cin/Clev trip is in July. The Kansas City game will be thrown in there somewhere. I already have the White Sox and Brewer tickets and am working on the Cubs. The Reds and Pirates tickets shouldn't be too hard to come by, but the Indians might. So we'll see how it goes, but I am excited and ready to start.

Intensity.

In about a week, I am going Champaign to the Illinois coaching clinic which is always educational and a great time. The guy that I am really excited to see is Ron Zook. (see below).

Folks, it doesn't get much better than that. I hope Salmo sees this picture, because like myself he is a Zook fan.
